Phosphatide concentrate (crude lecithin) is a by-product of the hydration of vegetable oils, in particular sunflower and soybean oils. It is a thick liquid substance consisting of a number of valuable phosphorus-containing lipid compounds (lecithin, etc.) and the original vegetable oil. Phosphatide concentrates are industrial goods and require further processing. They are used mainly for the production of food lecithin in the confectionery and bakery industry, as well as for the production of compound feed and feed supplements in animal husbandry.
